If you don’t have a CAD file for your project, but you do have a mock-up of the piece you want to create, we can use the laser scanner to create a CAD file for you. Using different tolerances, we can smooth out any jagged lines the laser picks up. The CAD template created by the scanner can then be used to cut any material.
This feature is also used to ensure quality control. Using the scanner, we can check that your part is within the given tolerance and matches the original CAD file. It does this by taking a scan and then placing this drawing over the original file. There we can take measurements and see any discrepancies. This process is called laser inspection.
